Address
to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People
United States Capitol, Washington, D.C.
September 20, 2001, 9:00 P.M. EDT
The
2001 CEMA Fall Meeting took place 9 days after the most
significant attack on America since Pearl Harbor. The attacks,
via commercial airliner on the World Trade Center buildings,
the Pentagon, and on a fourth commercial aircraft, significantly
disrupted American life and thrust the country into a war
against the terror network that planned and carried out
these attacks.
At the CEMA Fall Meeting Dinner, a TV was brought in to
allow the members to watch President Bush address Congress
and the Nation on the state of the country following that
historic event.
His speech is preserved here as a historical remembrance
and as a service to the membership.
