APRIL 2005
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its April 2005 Booked Orders Index was 179 up 15 points or an increase of 9% from March 2005's Index of 164 (1990=100). The April 2005 Index represents an increase of 10% from the April 2004 Index of 162.
April Booked Orders Indexes were 166 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 174 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 153 in April. Index represents an increase of 1% from March 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 152.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 147 in April down 15 points or a decrease of 9% from the March Index of 162. The April 2005 Index represents a decrease of 2% from the April 2004 Index of 150.
April Billed Sales Indexes were 158 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 146 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 168 in April. Index represents no change from March 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 168.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
