NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its April 2007 Booked Orders Index was 123 down 52 points or a decrease of 30% from March 2007's Index of 175 (1990=100). The April 2007 Index represents a decrease of 26% from the April 2006 Index of 167.
April Booked Orders Indexes were 194 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 97 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 146 in April. Index in April is down 3 points or 2% from March 2007's Twelve-Month Index of 149.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 139 in April. Index in April is down 40 points or 22% from March 2007's Twelve-Month Index of 179. The April 2007 Index represents a decrease of 1% from the April 2006 Index of 141.
April Billed Sales Indexes were 199 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 129 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 145 in April. Index in April is down 1 point or 1% from March's 2007's Twelve-Month Index of 146.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
