Monthly Statistics Report News Release

AUGUST 2007

NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its August 2007 Booked Orders Index was 140 down 2 points or a decrease of 1% from July 2007's Index of 142 (1990=100). The August 2007 Index represents an increase of 15% from the August 2006 Index of 122.

August Booked Orders Indexes were 215 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 112 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 153 in August. Index in August represents an increase of 1% from July 2007's Twelve-Month Index of 151.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 146 in August. Index in August is up 12 points or 9% from July 2007's Index of 134. The August 2007 Index represents a decrease of 4 points or 3% from the August 2006 Index of 150.

August Billed Sales Indexes were 212 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 135 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 145 in August. Index in August is unchanged from July 2007's Twelve-Month Index of 145.


* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
