RELEASE ON RECEIPT
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that
its December 2004 Booked Orders Index was 187 up 48 points or an increase of
35% from November 2004's Index of 139 (1990=100). The December 2004 Index represents
a decrease of 23% from the December 2003 Index of 242.
December Booked Orders Indexes were 181 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 178 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 151 in December. Index represents a decrease of 3% from November 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 155.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 189 in December up 47 points or an increase of 33% from the November Index of 142. The December 2004 Index represents an increase of 44% from the December 2003 Index of 131.
December Billed Sales Indexes were 195 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 192 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 168 in December. Index represents
an increase of 3% from November 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 163.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
