NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its December 2005 Booked Orders Index was 127 down 43 points or a decrease of 25% from November 2005's Index of 170 (1990=100). The December 2005 Index represents a decrease of 30% from the December 2004 Index of 182.
December Booked Orders Indexes were 197 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 96 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 151 in December. Index represents a decrease of 3% from November 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 156.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 128 in December down 20 points or a decrease of 14% from the November Index of 148. The December 2005 Index represents a decrease of 30% from the December 2004 Index of 184.
December Billed Sales Indexes were 173 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 118 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 145 in December. Index represents a decrease of 3% from November 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 150.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
