RELEASE ON RECEIPT
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that
its February 2004 Booked Orders Index was 108 down 3 points or a decrease of
3% from January 2004's Index of 111 (1990=100). The February 2004 Index represents
a decrease of 21% from the February 2003 Index of 137.
February Booked Orders Indexes were 150 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 84 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 141 in February. Index represents a decrease of 2% from January 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 144.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 139 in February up 5 points or an increase of 4% from the January Index of 134. The February 2004 Index represents an increase of 1% from the February 2003 Index of 138.
February Billed Sales Indexes were 136 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 143 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 140 in February. Index represents no change from January 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 140.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
