NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its June 2002 Booked Orders Index was 118 up 6 points or an increase of 1% from May 2002’s Index of 112 (1990=100). The June 2002 Index represents a decrease of 23% from the June 2001 Index of 154.

June Booked Orders Indexes were 75 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 130 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 142 in June. Index represents a decrease of 1% from May 2002’s Twelve-Month Index of 145.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 177 in June up 11 points or an increase of 1% from the May Index of 166. The June 2002 Index represents a decrease of 26% from the June 2001 Index of 238.

June Billed Sales Indexes were 86 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 179 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 206 in June. Index represents a decrease of 2% from May 2002’s Twelve-Month Index of 211.


* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
