RELEASE ON RECEIPT
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that
its June 2004 Booked Orders Index was 157 up 8 points or an increase of 5% from
May's 2004's Index of 149 (1990=100). The June 2004 Index represents an increase
of 38% from the June 2003 Index of 114.
June Booked Orders Indexes were 193 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 131 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 149 in June. Index represents an increase of 3% from May's 2004 Twelve-Month Index of 145.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 196 in June up 52 points or an increase of 36% from the May Index of 144. The June 2004 Index represents an increase of 32% from the June 2003 Index of 149.
June Billed Sales Indexes were 200 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 197 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 146 in June. Index represents an increase of 3% from May's 2004 Twelve-Month Index of 142.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
