NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its June 2008 Booked Orders Index was 175 up 51 points or an increase of 41% from May 2008's Index of 124 (1990=100). The June 2008 Index represents a decrease of 6% from the June 2007 Index of 187.
June Booked Orders Indexes were 223 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 160 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 151 in June. Index in June represents a decrease of 1% from May 2008's Twelve-Month Index of 152.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 155 in June. Index in June is up 8 points or 5% from May 2008's Index of 147. The June 2008 Index represents an increase of 8 points or 5% from the June 2007 Index of 147.
June Billed Sales Indexes were 242 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 136 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 146 in June. Index in June represents no change from May 2008's Twelve-Month Index of 146.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
