NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its March 2010 Booked Orders Index was 134. Index in March is up 19 points or 17% from February 2010's Index of 115 (1990=100). The March 2010 Index represents an increase of 5% from the March 2009 Index of 128.
March Booked Orders Indexes were 173 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 122 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 109 in March. Index in March represents no change from February 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 109.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 115 in March. Index in March is up 1 point or 1% from February 2010's Index of 114. The March 2010 Index represents a decrease of 11% from the March 2009 Index of 129.
March Billed Sales Indexes were 190 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 98 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 110 in March. Index in March represents a decrease of 1% from February 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 111.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and
are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for
non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total of
all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
