RELEASE ON RECEIPT
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that
its November 2003 Booked Orders Index was 114 down 59 points or a decrease of
34% from October 2003's Index of 173 (1990=100). The November 2003 Index represents
a decrease of 27% from the November 2002 Index of 157.
November Booked Orders Indexes were 121 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 107 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 132 in November. Index represents a decrease of 2% from October 2003's Twelve-Month Index of 135.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 147 in November down 30 points or a decrease of 17% from the October Index of 177. The November 2003 Index represents an increase of 5% from the November 2002 Index of 140.
November Billed Sales Indexes were 120 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 128 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 167 in November. Index represents
an increase of 1% from October 2003's Twelve-Month Index of 166.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
