NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its October 2005 Booked Orders Index was 157 down 3 points or a decrease of 2% from September 2005's Index of 160 (1990=100). The October 2005 Index represents an increase of 4% from the September 2004 Index of 151.
October Booked Orders Indexes were 171 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 148 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 152 in October. Index represents no change from September 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 152.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 127 in October down 34 points or a decrease of 21% from the September Index of 161. The October 2005 Index represents a decrease of 20% from the October 2004 Index of 159.
October Billed Sales Indexes were 167 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 119 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 149 in October. Index represents a decrease of 2% from September 2005's Twelve-Month Index of 152.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
