RELEASE ON RECEIPT
NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that
its September 2004 Booked Orders Index was 156 down 19 points or a decrease
of 11% from August 2004's Index of 175 (1990=100). The September 2004 Index
represents an increase of 32% from the September 2003 Index of 118.
September Booked Orders Indexes were 257 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 107 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 156 in September. Index represents an increase of 2% from August 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 153.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 229 in September up 49 points or an increase of 27% from the August Index of 180. The September 2004 Index represents an increase of 102% from the September 2003 Index of 113.
September Billed Sales Indexes were 270 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 218 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 160 in September. Index represents an increase of 6% from August 2004's Twelve-Month Index of 151.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
