Monthly Statistics Report News Release

SEPTEMBER 2006

NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its September 2006 Booked Orders Index was 202 up 80 points or an increase of 65% from August 2006's Index of 122 (1990=100). The September 2006 Index represents an increase of 28% from the September 2005 Index of 158.

September Booked Orders Indexes were 187 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 212 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 146 in September. Index in September is up 4 points or 3% from August 2006's Twelve-Month Index of 142.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 153 in September up 3 points or an increase of 2% from the August Index of 150. The September 2006 Index represents a decrease of 7% from the September 2005 Index of 164.

September Billed Sales Indexes were 188 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 156 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 143 in September. Index in September is down 1 point or 1% from August 2006's Twelve-Month Index of 144.


 


* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
